Welcome to the City of San José city manager's page. Our city is a dynamic, vibrant place boasting a diverse and involved population of more than 1,000,500 as well as a beautiful natural landscape. Just a few decades ago we were a farming community known for our miles of orchards. Today San José is the 10th largest city in the country.

We are the Capitol of Silicon Valley, an international leader in the bioscience industry, and at the national forefront of green technology movement. San José is now recognized as an international epicenter of arts, culture, and technology.

Economic Strategy
When faced with aggressive competition coupled with an economic downturn, the City of San José committed to an innovative economic development strategy. We decided to invest in San José by fostering the entrepreneurial spirit, providing economic opportunity and enhancing our many cultural and educational assets. This strategy, along with the fact that we are among the safest big cities in America, has made San José a great place to live and work.

Quality Customer Service
The City of San José is a customer-focused, results-driven organization. We are committed to providing quality customer service to our residents, businesses, and visitors. We constantly and consistently seek their input and involvement. Our priorities and goals are based on their feedback. Together, we are working to keep San José growing and thriving.

Thank you for visiting this website. If you have an idea as to how we can improve, let us know. We want to hear from you.
